Coming from a long history of Movado watches, I had a $3,000 Fiero Tungsten Carbide (Movado) that was giving my wrist a horrible rash. Despite how much I loved the watch, I knew I either needed to find a new watch to take it's place or walk around with an embarrassing rash on my arm... I chose to give up my precious Movado that I absolutely loved. Find a new watch was to take it's place (I loved that thing) was not an easy task and I didn't want to give up the stylish or sporty feel of the watch, but wanted something super high quality that I could wear either casual or dressy depending on the occasion. I also wanted something extremely well built and something I could possible pass down as a future heirloom perhaps.
After looking at dozens and dozens of watches and reading review after review, I stumbled upon the Tag Carrera Calibre and couldn't stop looking at it. Every time I went away from it to look at other watches, I ended up coming back and staring at it... after doing this about 5 times and watching some youtube videos of the watch, I knew I had to have it and that it would make a perfect replacement for my beloved Movado.
When I first got the watch, I was so impressed with the packaging and how gorgeous it looked in it's box... it's a much larger watch than I am used to and has a huge face that fits really nicely on my above average sized wrists... the features are awesome, the chronograph looks amazing and is very useful if you need a stopwatch, etc and you can tell this is an extremely well built time piece, hence it's $3K price. I also love that is has the day and date a feature I'm not used to and is super helpful without having to look at my iphone to find out. I've had it now for about a month and it keeps absolute flawless time (I compare to my iphone which is synced perfectly) and it's never even a second off. I wear it all the time since it's automatic movement and you need to wear it to keep it going, only taking it off to mow the lawn, shower or anything else that could get it dirty or damage it.
I'm so glad to have purchased this amazing time piece and even though it was very hard to give up the movado that I loved so much, I can't help but think I ended up getting a much higher quality watch out of the deal. This is a watch I will take very good care of and enjoy for years to come. I hope to pass it down to my son one day. This is my first Tag Heuer watch and am extremely impressed. Also, the days of having to change batteries every year or two on my watch are over - I've also gotten used to the extremely large face and love how masculine it looks, yet still maintains it's sophistication I like in a watch.
